“And then I think of Brabant because the light is still on there,” which was also the case on that beautiful evening, when the sun cast its last rays on our terrace. We enjoyed a plate of delicious shell pasta, which seemed to come straight from the kitchen of a star restaurant. We felt grateful and lucky to have such a nice place in these difficult times. That day I had received a wonderful surprise from the Boerschappen.
VisitBrabant invited me to meet their well-stocked box. They had sent me the “Chef's box”, full of fresh and local products from Brabant farmers. These farmers are not sitting still during this crisis, but continue to provide us with the best that nature has to offer. And you can taste it! What you get from Brabant is delicious! I am going to prepare a bucatini recipe with it, with samphire and cockles. A real taste sensation!”
The Farmers
As the saying goes "When the going get's though, the though get going", De Boerschappen started in times of the Corona crisis with a beautiful food box. The oh so beloved catering industry in Brabant was at a loss, we all eat at home and the farmers are at a loss with their surpluses. De Boerschappen connect these hard workers with us, the consumers, in the form of these fantastic boxes. Good for the farmer and therefore good for you with these healthy meals. And cooking like a chef is suddenly no longer a high threshold to cross!
