And then suddenly I was in France without wifi or an interconnection… Although the holiday was wonderful, this also meant that there was no weekly vlog could be posted… You do need a good connection for that! This time an extra long episode because it has become two weeks in one big vlog. Take a quick look in the week 17 in 18.19 toy weekly vlog Delicious Happen to view our holiday adventures.
Week 17 and 18.19 week vlog Delicious snacks
I had been looking forward to my holiday in France for a long time, but I had to finish some work first. Just before departure I had a last marketing consultation with my colleagues and then it was time to pack my things and go to France. It was a bit complicated to pack because I didn't really know what the weather would be like.
Would it be nice and sunny or would it rain? In the end you take too much with you, but it is better to be well prepared on the road. I was looking forward to enjoying French culture, nature and cuisine.
France the Perigord
This time we went to a part of France where we have never been on holiday. And we certainly didn't regret it. What a beautiful area and what a lot of chateaus! There is a beautiful chateau on almost every corner of a mountain. The main reason to go to this house was the possibility of horseback riding.
Jools really wanted to go on outdoor rides and that was more than possible here. Also incredibly sweet and nice people. They invited us to have an apéro and after that we even stayed for dinner. The fact that I speak French helps, of course, because they hardly speak English or any other language there.
Gastronomic delights
During the holidays I like to cook for myself. We often take our grill with us and then buy vegetables and meat on the spot at the market. In this region it is mainly duck meat and foie gras. The latter is of course not entirely without discussion, but in France they think slightly differently about it.
So it is also widely available and I have eaten it a few times. I haven't worked out any recipes further because I couldn't work on my website. So I completely let go of that part and just enjoyed the surroundings.
Back again
Back in the Netherlands on Sunday we celebrated the birthday of Saar, the daughter of my best friend. Our joint autumn holiday has already been booked, so we can look forward to that. And the work for Delicious Happen started again right away. Plenty of email, and all sorts of other things I'm arranging for my two upcoming events. Tuesday I had another fun event to which I was invited. You can also see that in the weekly vlog.
What all came online?
Well actually not that much because I didn't make any new recipes during the holidays, but since I got home, one gem has already been placed. This one went completely wild in terms of visitors to my page so I like to share it again here:
What is expected for week 19?
I have a lot of appointments this week for the Kitchen Champion. We're going to shoot photos in a showroom. But the best event is coming Saturday… stay tuned because I will definitely be posting enough stories on Instagram. A nice busy week ahead, I look forward to seeing you here again next week!
