This recipe falls under "the basics". Here I post recipes that, in my opinion, really belong under the basics in the kitchen. And so you will also find recipes of, for example, spice mixes. Of course you can easily buy a bottle at the store and there are plenty in my kitchen drawer too. But experimenting with different herbs and spices is wonderful! And in a well-sealed jar you can store them for months and continue to enjoy them yourself. In this basic recipe we are going to make our own dukkah spice mix.

Make your own Dukkah mix

Dukkah is an ancient Egyptian spice mix that can be used as a dip. I also sprinkle it over cheese or fish, for example. This gives your dishes a completely different taste. Recipe for homemade dukkah seasoning

Dukkah is a delicious blend of nuts, seeds and spices that originated in Egypt. The most common nut used in dukkah is hazelnut, but you can also add pistachio or other nuts. The spices you choose can also vary depending on your taste and preference. The nice thing about dukkah is that there is no set recipe for it. Every family, every region and every chef has their own version of dukkah. That means you have a lot of freedom to experiment with the ingredients and the proportions. This way you can make your own unique dukkah that suits your dishes!

-Take a baking tin for the oven and sprinkle all the spices on it.

-Put the baking tin in the oven at 180 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until it smells nice in your kitchen.

-Then remove the tin from the oven and let the spices cool.

- Grab your food processor or a mortar and grind it until they are small grains. Be careful not to fine or it will stick together and you don't want that.
