spice nuts! I can eat kilos of it myself… They have been on the shelves since August, but it is actually much more fun to do it yourself. I recorded a nice video. And this time I was not alone in front of the camera, but I had two little champions with me. Because what could be more fun than making your own spice nuts with kids? We went to work and filled baking tins. The only disadvantage is that they are gone again in no time! The girls thought it was super fun and also a bit exciting to be in front of the camera. Well as far as I'm concerned they did a very good job, real naturals! So here's an easy gingerbread recipe for you.

In the film I halved these quantities for the girls so that they each had their own bowl. You can also double it again if you want to make lots of kruidnoten!
And this is how you get started making your own spice nuts:
First we preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Also empty the baking tins with a sheet of baking paper on top.

-Weigh all the ingredients and put them in separate bowls, then grab a large bowl and add the butter cut into small cubes. Also add the caster sugar, a pinch of salt, the speculaas spices and the self-raising flour. Knead it all until it forms a dough.
- Finally, add the spoonfuls of milk one at a time. Make a large dough ball.
-We got to work and rolled a lot of small balls. Note that in the oven the dough will expand a bit so don't make the balls too big otherwise they will really look like cookies!
-Place the baking tin in the oven for 15 minutes and when they are done let them cool down before eating one!
