Sweet carrot peach juice cocktails: a surprising treat

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Recently I was invited to a fun foodie event that was all about vegetable juices. They may have a bit of a dusty image. Tomato or beet juice is not necessarily very sexy, is it? I immediately get the association of grandma's tips for a juice against this ailment of this or an ailment of that. Time to change that a bit. I've been making smoothies for a long time and we really appreciate those fruit juices. We combine the two in these sweet carrot peach juice cocktails.

Serve with edible flowers and sugar on the rim of the glass.

By the way, they can be drunk “virgin” or with alcohol. This time we go for white rum. Of course we spice up the glasses a bit to serve a delicious summer glass. And so you have suddenly made a very surprising cocktail from carrot juice!

Carrot juice is super healthy, it is full of vitamin A, vitamin B and beta-carotene. Drinking unmixed gives you plenty of benefits. But I personally think it tastes just a bit better in a cocktail recipe than these sweet carrot peach juice cocktails. The edible flowers are optional because not everyone will have them in their home. I ordered them online. So you can also just add a rim of sugar to the glass. Or you choose to sprinkle in some piri-piri powder for a spicey kick!

I made the ice cubes in these sweet carrot peach juice cocktails with water and the edible flowers. You freeze them and the ice cube will even take on the color of the flowers. The advantage is that if you drink a leaf that is not a problem at all.

Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.

Ingredients:

  • 100 ml carrot juice
  • 300 ml peach juice - of 250 g frozen slices and 50 ml water
  • 250 ml white rum
  • 2 el edible flowers - (optional )
  • 3 el granulated sugar
  • ½ red grapefruit

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • To make the peach juice, add the peach slices. (This is the amount from one box from the freezer section at your supermarket). Add them to your blender with the water and set on the ice crush setting until the flesh is soft. Then on the sieve setting until you have a soft smoothie-like substance.
  • Mix the peach juice with the carrot juice and rum in a cocktail shaker.
  • Dip the four glasses with the rim in the shaker and then through the sugar mixed with the edible flowers.
  • Carefully pour into the glasses and serve with some grapefruit slides.
