A refreshing summer drink that you can make in no time. This summer cucumber agua fresca combines the freshness of cucumber with green tea, lime and a touch of honey. Inspired by the Mexican aguas frescas, this alcohol-free drink is perfect for hot days or as a healthy thirst quencher.
Of course you can easily buy lemonade, soft drinks or syrup in the supermarket. But you can also easily make a refreshing drink yourself. This summer cucumber agua fresca can be stored for a few days in the refrigerator and is a combination of iced tea and a kind of vegetable juice. For this drink it is useful if you have a juicer, but a blender will also suffice. Of course you can determine the taste yourself by the ingredients you use, or the amount of sugar or honey you add. This green juice drink tastes fantastic and is easy to make.
Summer Cucumber Agua Fresca – Refreshing Mexican Green Tea Drink
Agua Frescas is mainly found in South American countries, including Mexico. You can actually mix it up and use various types of fruit or vegetables. I did not make the drink too sweet, otherwise you would quickly end up with lemonade and I want to avoid that a bit. I used green tea and honey as a sweetener. All natural ingredients without further additives. You keep it in the refrigerator and if it has been there for a while, always stir or shake it well before pouring it out.

Ingredients:
- 2 cucumbers
- 3 twigs fresh mint
- 6 limes - squeezed
- 1 liter green tea
- 4 el honey
Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.
And this is how you make it:
- Squeeze the limes.
- Remove the mint leaves from the stems and put them together with the cucumber pieces through a juicer. No juicer? Use a blender and then sieve the mixture for a smooth juice
- Brew 1 liter of green tea and let it cool completely. You can do this in advance to save time. Pour the tea, lime juice, cucumber-mint juice and honey into a large glass jug or a reused bottle. Stir or shake vigorously until the honey is completely dissolved
- In a glass jug or just an old spa red bottle, pour the lime juice, tea, juice and honey together and stir or shake very hard. Then you can pour it out.
- This Agua Fresca can be kept in the refrigerator for a few days, just shake or stir before pouring it again.

This is of course an alcohol-free drink. If you would like to make a cocktail out of it, you can do so by adding some gin or vodka. But in this case I would use it as a thirst quencher.
