As a food blogger you sometimes get to do the nicest things: taste good food! And who would say no to that? Not me anyway and this time I was allowed to go to Restaurant Today. And what a super nice deal that is, I went to the branch in Breda, which is just outside the center. Curious about my experience? We can easily park the car in the large parking lot in front of the restaurant in Breda. The restaurant is on the first floor of the Breepark building. It almost reminds me a bit of France where you will also find these shopping centers just outside the city, and where there are also all kinds of restaurants. We walk up the stairs and are warmly welcomed by the lady behind the counter there.

She calls a girl from the service who asks us if this is our first time here. Then she takes us into the restaurant, she explains to us about the different cooking islands. Then she takes us to our table and luckily we have super good lighting for the food photos!

Buffet and Live Cooking

In the very spacious room there are a number of buffets where you can grab your own food. And unlimited too! We decide that we will definitely taste something from all the islands and we start at the very front at the sushi bar. There are delicious freshly made sushi rolls and sashimi. But also oysters, langoustines and mussels.

I grab a plate and choose a number of different sushi and luckily my favorite with fried shrimp is also included. All-in restaurants often have a somewhat negative reputation in terms of quality, but that is absolutely not the case here. We are amazed at the freshness and variety of fish species. You don't come across fresh oysters and sashimi that melts on your tongue very often!

Live cooking

A part that underlines the quality of the food is the live cooking by the different chefs. At almost every island you can choose your own food and have it baked or cooked by the chef on the spot. At the meat and fish buffet we have fresh scallops, prawns, entrecôte and duck breast fillet baked. We stop to watch the preparation of the products and the smell of the fried meat makes us hungry.

When the chef tells me that the duck breast takes a little longer, the perfectly rosé baked fillet is then brought to our table by the chef himself. Super soft in taste and poured with a delicious teriyaki sauce. There are also two large big green egg BBQs, so you can even get your burger fresh from the BBQ.

Family restaurant

We deliberately went for dinner on a Tuesday because it is naturally quieter then. We had a nice overview of the entire restaurant, which is very spacious. Another nice thing about this concept is that you can also come and eat with very large groups or with the children. There is a separate area where the kids can play to their heart's content and even bake cookies. The buffets for the children have also been adjusted to a height so that they can choose and pack their own food. Is your birthday on the day you come for dinner? Then you even get your food completely free!

The dessert

What's a dinner without dessert? After enjoying all the different cuisines and different dishes, we couldn't resist walking past the dessert buffet. The super nice pastry chef gave us an explanation about the different desserts that are available. And you can indulge yourself here too. A delicious cheese board, two fantastic chocolate fountains, ice cream, and all kinds of different little pastries.

Everything is there to provide yourself with a delicious dessert. Restaurant Today also has a first because they are the first restaurant with a pink chocolate fountain. They are going to use the Ruby chocolate in their fountain.

All in all we had a complete evening and enjoyed all the delicious food. The great thing about this concept is that your drinks are also included and you have already paid in advance. After your dessert you can go home with a nice feeling of satisfaction.
