Mummy frankfurters

Knackiedag, created by my daughter so that she can eat frankfurters once a week! The simple frankfurter sandwich with some ketchup and mustard remains a classic, of course. But these mummy frankfurters in puff pastry buns are a nice variation on that. The kids will love it. I filled them with some cheddar cheese, if you don't like that just leave it out. Get started quickly with these delicious frankfurters in puff pastry. This is a super easy recipe for mini sausages in puff pastry without egg!

Frankincense sausages are a popular snack and a traditional product of European cuisine. The exact moment of their origin is not known, but they have probably been around for hundreds of years and are eaten in many different countries. Frankincense sausages are made from meat, usually pork, and are seasoned and smoked before being sold.

They are eaten as a snack or part of meals and are often served with bread or potatoes. Knaksausages are known for their unique taste and ease of preparation and are a popular choice for on the go or as a quick meal.

For Mummy frankfurters for 4 children you will need:

-1 can of frankfurters
-4 slices Cheddar cheese
-4 slices puff pastry

And this is how you make the mummy sausages with puff pastry:

The photo from 2017 … here with cheese.

- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees, so that it is warm in time for the preparation of the frankfurters in puff pastry.
-Defrost the puff pastry slices and drain the sausages.
-Take 1 slice of puff pastry and place a strip of cheddar cheese and 2 sausages in the middle.
- Cut the sides diagonally downwards and when you've done that you fold the strings towards each other, so you wrap the sausages, as it were.

-Place the mummies on a baking tray lined with baking paper and put in the oven until they are nicely browned, then blow well so that the frankfurters cool down a bit and then: Delicious bites!

Another fun method is to cut the puff pastry into strips and twist them around the knaks. Sometimes leave some space to place candy eyes in it later when it's Halloween for example.
